Finally pulled the trigger on a used 911 – the inspection was worth every dirham - lindsaykelly - 05-25-2026 After months of searching and saving, I finally bought a 2015 Carrera S from a private seller in Dubai Marina. The car looked amazing, the seller had service records from the dealer, and the test drive went super smooth. But I was still nervous because everyone knows Porsches are reliable compared to other sports cars, but when something does break on a 911, it's not cheap. I decided to pay for a thorough inspection even though the seller seemed trustworthy. I found some porsche car inspection experts dubai who actually put the car on a lift and checked things I never would have thought about, like bore scoring on the cylinders (a known issue on these engines), the condition of the coolant lines which can delaminate internally, and even the health of the high pressure fuel pumps. They found that the water pump was starting to weep slightly and the front control arm bushings were cracking, neither of which were obvious during my test drive. The seller was surprised too and actually agreed to knock off a bit from the price to cover the repairs. I wouldn't have known about any of this until something failed on the highway. So yeah, the inspection cost me a bit but probably saved me three times that in unexpected repairs. Just wanted to share for anyone else who's nervous about buying a used Porsche. Spend the money on the check, seriously. I'm so glad I did. |
